The Android Revolution

Warning!

Under construction: Automated translated to English: strange language alert!

Android, the sensational operating system of the future has truly arrived!

Much has been written about the newest operating system for mobile computers. But still I miss the super enthusiastic feeling I have just try to express. Why is Android so than sensational?

The most important advantage of Android is that it is an operating system that is built to be fully hardware independent. It is possible that a free or bought program  on any device with Android will work. The designers have achieved this by:

• the compulsory in JAVA programming. This is a processor-independent programming language.
• making it possible to make in JAVA background processes (services) to make that time controlled or event driven services to the user can provide.

A number of events where a JAVA program may subscribe:

o Screen_on
o Screen_off
o Systeem_started
o Program paused (eg when a call comes in between)
o Headset connected
o Low Battery

• making it possible to create Java programs that their services and information in an easy way to exchange with other programs.
• Many standard routines to provide the hardware to talk to you so easily through JAVA include the following matters can control:

o Location determination using GPS, mobile phone masts and WiFi Access Points
o Reading the various environmental sensors such as the orientation sensor, light sensors and magnetic field sensor (compass)
o Controlling the camera
o Various sizes screens with different resolutions and orientations.
o Wifi connection management

The second major advantage of Android is the security concept. Any program that is installed to the end user must request permission to be allowed to use certain rights on the system. Also run any programs in their own environment where they are not the memory and files from other programs can access. A number to be requested rights are:

• Internet access
• The read / write contacts
• Hardware access such as:

o Using the camera
o prevent a phone goes into sleep mode
o Off Using GPS for location
o Wifi connection management
o Bluetooth administration

Third major advantage is that the Android operating system open source. The result is that all hardware vendors in the world for their operating system and hardware can adapt without license fees to install. We see a lot of different vendors test their hardware and make it suitable for Android.

Fourth big advantage is that the user experience has been paramount in the design. All programs work as much as possible in a uniform way, and switching back and switching between programs is very intuitive. Thus it is easy to-door on a link in an email-clicking to the Web browser, and go back to the original email by pressing the hardware button “back” button.
The operation of the system via the touch screen or via a control ball (trackball). This trackball select your choices on the screen and select them by pressing the ball. The touch system is designed to operate with your fingers to be so large and clear buttons. It is therefore no need for a dedicated pin with you have to make the system to be able to operate. Indeed, the first Android phone (T-Mobile G1) is not even possible to use a stylus, the screen only responds to the (super light) contact with the fingers!

It is my firm belief that this system, by the above advantages,  wil take rapidly the mobile world by storm, starting with the PDA, then netbooks and it would not surprise me if even slowly desktop computers running Android will be fitted.

The revolution that the IBM-compatible PC that time has wrought in my opinion will be put in the shade of the current Android revolution!
